Rainy day in the Stade Pierre Mauroy as Wales faces Belgium in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, France
Wales Lineup: Wayne Hennessey; James Chester, Ashley Williams©, Ben Davies; Chris Gunter, Joe Allen, Joe Ledley, Aaron Ramsey, Neil Taylor; Gareth Bale, Hal Robson Kanu
Belgium Lineup: Thibaut Courtois; Thomas Meunier, Toby Alderweireld, Jason Denayer, Jordan Lukaku; Axel Witsel, Radja Nainggolan; Yannick Carrasco, Kevin De Bruyne; Eden Hazard©, Romelu Lukaku.
1st half— Wales being the underdogs of this game were quickly let down as Belgium took possession over the ball for the first minutes and early scoring once again took place as Radja Nainggolan found the back of the net in the 13th minute. Wales was not going to go down without a fight, captain Ashley Williams heads the ball into goal and equalizes in the 33rd minute. Belgium was pretty dominant this half until Williams scored.
2nd half— Subs Carrasco off and Fellaini on for Belgium. Once again Belgium take possession early on, but Wales wastes no time in taking the lead with one of the most beautiful goals I have ever witnessed by Robson-Kanu in the 55th minute—IT WAS AMAZING. Wales put up quite the fight second half. Finally, Gunter broke away in the sideline and crossed the ball into the box and Sam Vokes beat Alderweireld to score the winning goal with only 5 minutes left to play.
Wales have advance to play Portugal in the first semifinal match on Wednesday in Lyon. I’m honestly super excited to see Ronaldo vs Bale. Rooting for Wales but a little part of me is also hoping Ronaldo gets a goal or two.
